The Kazakh president hosted on Tuesday a dinner in honor of his Turkish counterpart, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkey's President Abdullah Gul participated in a dinner hosted in his honor by Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev in Astana.

During the dinner, Gul said cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan, which aimed to make Eurasia an area of solidarity and cooperation, was an example for other countries.

Gul referred to the strategic partnership between the two countries, and said Turkey and Kazakhstan had exerted concerted efforts and common will to put to practice issues in the strategic partnership agreement.

President Gul said Turkey and Kazakhstan shared a common vision in international arena, supported each other in international platforms, and had a harmonious approach to global and regional problems.

The entire world had appreciated Kazakhstan's positive and constructive attitude for restoring peace and tolerance in and beyond Central Asia, Gul said.

Gul said Kazakh presidency of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) was actively contributing to peace, security and stability in OSCE geography.

President Gul said Turkey would take over for two years the rotating presidency of the Conference of Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, founded with Nazarbayev's initiatives, in a summit to take place in Istanbul two weeks later.

Gul also appreciated Nazarbayev's efforts for intermingling of Turkic nations.

"What we should do now is to lift obstacles to improve economic, commercial and cultural relations between our nations, and to help our nations get closer to each other," Gul said.

Gul underlined importance of restrictive practices in reciprocal trips of Turkish and Kazakh citizens, and said Turkey was ready to fulfil its responsibilities.

President Gul said Turkey was encouraging its businessmen to make investments in Kazakhstan, and said he was sure bilateral trade volume would increase with mutual investments.

Gul invited Kazakh entrepreneurs to invest in Turkey, and said Turkey was in an effort to improve relations with Kazakhstan particularly in energy.

"Transporting Kazakh oil via Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline, in addition to Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, to world markets is a new cooperation area for us," he said.

Gul also said he hoped not only Kazakh oil but also natural gas would be shipped to European markets via Turkey.

Turkish President Abdullah Gul will hold a series of talks in Kazakhstan between May 23-26.

Bilateral relations between Turkey and Kazakhstan, as well as regional and international developments will be main topics Gul will discuss with Kazakh executves.

Gul is also set to address the Kazakh parliament, and later visit Turkestan, a city of great importance for the Turkic world, and Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Turkish-Kazakh University during his stay in Kazakhstan.
