According to preliminary report, 3 people were killed in Taraz (administrative center of Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan) as a result of shooting and explosion on Saturday morning, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
"A hunting store was robbed, one store employee was killed, and another was injured. A few minutes later I heard a gunfire and an explosion near the building of regional akimat [regional governor's office], which is located near the store," the incident witness said.
According to the source, a policeman was shot dead in the shooting and an unidentified man blew himself up with a grenade.
Department of Internal Affairs of Zhambyl region neither confirms nor denies the report.
"Official information will be available in the afternoon," the department spokesman told Novosti-Kazakhstan over the phone.
