A second round of negotiations on a new agreement to expand the partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union will be held in Brussel on May 24-25, an official representative of Kazakh Foreign Ministry Abibullaev Altai said on Monday.
Kazakh delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Volkov, a delegation of the European Union - Director for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, regional cooperation and the OSCE European External Action Service, Gunnar Wiegand.
During the talks, which would take the form of working groups and plenary sessions, the parties plan to discuss the future of all sections of the draft agreement covering the issues of political, trade-economic, legal, financial and humanitarian cooperation.
The next round of formal negotiations on a new agreement with the EU will be held in Astana in July 2012.
