Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 5 / Trend E. Kosolapova/
On Tuesday Kazakhstan's appeal court started hearing on mass murder at Arkankergen border post , Novosti-Kazakhstan reported.
Some 15 bodies were found at the Arkankergen border post in late May including 14 border guards and a ranger. A border guard Vladislav Chelakh confessed that he killed his colleagues. However, later he refuted this confession and said the border post had been attacked. However Chelakh was sentenced to life in prison after being found solely responsible for the killings. In December Chelakh appealed the verdict.
Within the appeal court hearing Chelakh's lawyer Serik Sarsenov challenged the judge. According to Sarsenov, the judge violated a law while considering the defense's appeal.
On Tuesday, the judge dismissed most of 23 petitions of Chelakh's lawyer.
However the challenge was cancelled.
