President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan on international road transport, the press service of the Kazakh president said in a message.
"The agreement establishes legal norms for the implementation of road transport between the two countries, regulates the types of trucking and the procedure for establishing quotas for the exchange of permission forms," the report said.
Roman Sklyar, the First Vice-Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan said earlier, that the ratification of this agreement will promote further development of road transport between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, as well as increase the volume of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
In 2016, the volume of cargo transportation by road between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan amounted to 6.200 tons. The main transported goods are equipment, agricultural products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and food products.
Kazakhstan has concluded automobile agreements with 41 states to date.
