BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 19
By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:
Kazakhstan’s Civil Aviation Committee and Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) signed two agreements on cooperation, Trend reports citing the Committee.
The first agreement provides for the transfer of oversight and control functions for aircraft previously registered in Aruba to Kazakhstan, and Ireland will oversee the annual certification of the aircraft.
The second agreement provides for the replacement of the current agreement with the UK Civil Aviation Authority with a new agreement with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and IAA on the placement of employees in Kazakhstan to help develop, train and implement technical European legislation so that EASA's regulatory standards can be applied.
Kazakh Air Astana plans to begin transferring the first aircraft from the Aruba registry to the Irish civil aircraft register in August this year. In general, all aircraft of the Air Astana group of companies will be transferred to the Irish register within a year. Air Astana's aviation registration prefix will be changed from P4 (Aruba) to EI (Ireland).
Over the next 36 months, experts from the Irish regulator will assist Kazakhstan in the development and implementation of European regulatory standards and management system components for inspections and preparation for upcoming audits (ICAO, FAA Cat 1).
