BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Kazakhstan places significant importance on the development of gas processing capacities, and the gas transportation system as another key priority, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at the Central Asia-EU summit held in Kyrgyzstan today.
"In this regard, the construction of the second line of the main gas pipeline "Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent" and the establishment of a gas processing plant at the Kashagan field with an annual capacity of 4 bcm are of great significance to us. We look forward to further support from our European partners in advancing these significant regionally-scaled projects," he said.
President Tokayev noted that an adopted roadmap on rare earth metals extraction between Kazakhstan and the EU opens up vast prospects for cooperation.
"We are prepared to provide preferences to our European partners for the exploration and development of over 60 precious and non-ferrous metal deposits within the territory of Kazakhstan," the president added.
