ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 3. Batumi Oil Terminal LTD has resumed dockless loading of dark oil products produced at Kazakhstan oil refineries onto Aframax tankers in batches of 60,000–80,000 tons using dockless loading in March 2024, KazTransOil (owns a 100 percent package of share in BOT) told Trend.
According to the company, the cargo is then sent to European countries. Loading of dark oil products of Kazakhstan origin is planned to be carried out on a monthly basis.
As KazTransOil noted, the resumption of this work is associated with the diversification of transit and transport routes for the transportation of goods.
Shipments of fuel oil and VGO (vacuum gas oil) in large quantities have actually been stopped since October 2018. Shipment of dark oil products in large quantities onto Aframax tankers allows clients of Batumi Oil Terminal LTD to reduce transportation costs, which in turn makes the route of Kazakhstani cargo for export through Batumi more attractive and will increase their transshipment volume.
Since August 22, 2017, KazTransOil owned a 100 percent package of share in Batumi Oil Terminal Ltd, through which direct ownership and management of production assets in Georgia is carried out.
Batumi Oil Terminal Ltd has exclusive rights to manage a 100 percent package of share in Batumi Seaport LLC, owned by the State (Georgia).
