Kazakhstan's KazMunaiGas (KMG, the national oil and gas company) and Italy's Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. have discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation, including a project for the production of polyethylene, as well as potential directions in the petrochemical industry, Trend reports.
Discussions took place between the Chairman of the Board of KMG Magzum Mirzagaliyev and the Executive Director of Maire Tecnimont S.p.A., Alessandro Bernini.
"The polyethylene production project with a capacity of 1.25 million tons per year is the largest to date in the petrochemical industry of Kazakhstan. In this regard, its implementation is a priority and a very responsible task for us. And we highly appreciate the successes and achievements of Tecnimont as an international leading EPC company engaged in construction and project management, providing a full range of engineering services in the oil and gas, petrochemical, and other industries," Mirzagaliyev said.
During the negotiations, it was also noted that bilateral cooperation opens up new horizons for mutual growth, the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the implementation of joint projects that will not only contribute to joint success but will also contribute to the development of the energy industry at the international level.
Notably, as part of the cooperation on the Polyethylene project, Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. develops an extended basic design EBD for polymerization units, alpha-olefins, and general plant facilities.
Meanwhile, Maire Tecnimont is one of the world leaders in the field of engineering and construction of production facilities in the oil and gas, energy, and chemical industries.
