At least 83 percent of 1,600 interviewed women become victims of family violence, Aleksandra Eliferenko, chairwoman of the Crisis Centers' Association in Kyrgyzstan told the press Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The survey involved 1,600 women from all over the country. "Therewith, it is hard to define the regions where the situation is more complicated. According to the statistics 3,2 percent of women suffering from domestic violence get serious injuries, 4 out of 100 interviewed women face violence every day, 27 - two-four times a month", she said.
The experts says domestic violence is often related to alcoholism, drugs and birth of girls, but working and educated women with wealthy parents are in a more advantageous position.
Women whose rights are violated, confirmed that 24% of them got married being kidnapped. And only every 6th of them is divorced," Aleksandra Elifenko said.
