BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 19. The Chinese government will provide the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan with grant aid totaling 200 million Chinese yuan (more than $28 million) for the implementation of future project agreements, the statement of Kyrgyzstan's Cabinet of Ministers, Trend reports.
The corresponding agreement was signed in Beijing by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev and Director of the State Agency for International Cooperation and Development of China Luo Zhaohui.
The funds provided on a grant basis are allocated following the agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of China on cooperation in the implementation of bilateral technical and economic assistance projects. The document is aimed at further development of friendly relations and technical and economic cooperation between the two countries.
To note, the 16th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Chinese Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was also held in Beijing on September 18 in a tight and enlarged format.
Meanwhile, it was noted that in 2023 the volume of trade turnover amounted to $20 billion, which is 32 percent more compared to 2022, and from January through July of this year the volume of trade turnover reached almost $11 billion.
