Uzbek President Islam Karimov and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had a telephone conversation on Friday, the Russian president's press service reported.
The leaders discussed current bilateral cooperation matters related to practical implementation of the agreements reached during Mr Medvedev's visit to Tashkent in June 2011.
Both leaders noted the considerable work done by the ministries and agencies in the two countries and the new initiatives that are being added to the earlier decisions, including initiatives to develop interregional cooperation.
The two presidents also exchanged views on a number of issues on the international and regional agendas.
