President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov has expressed his condolences to the Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the earthquake in the Van Province, which resulted in human casualties.
Last Sunday a major earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale took place in the eastern part of Turkey. Tremors were felt in Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.
As a result of the natural disaster more than 200 people died and over 1,000 people were injured, while about 400 are under the rubble.
