Akmal Kamalov, who was appointed Uzbekistan's ambassador to Russia, left for Moscow, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said on Oct. 27.
Prior to this appointment, Kamalov served as the first deputy minister of foreign economic relations, investments and trade of Uzbekistan.
On his new position, Kamalov replaced Ziedulla Pulathodzhayev, who served as the Uzbek ambassador to Russia since May 2010.
Pulathodzhayev was dismissed as ambassador to Russia in August 2014, in accordance with a decision of the upper chamber of Uzbekistan's parliament.
