Uzbek border guards prevented illegal movement of a large batch of inventory on the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, the press service of the State Border Protection Committee of National Security Service (SBPC NSS) of Uzbekistan said.

"On November, 10 Uzbek border guards detained citizens of Kyrgyzstan with two "Hyundai Porter" cars on the Yapagi-Vuadil road of the Fergana district during the illicit movement of a large batch of inventory, said the statement.

During the arrest of 20 violators of the state border, Kyrgyz citizen, a 28-year-old resident of the Markaz village of the Kadamjai district of the Batken region A. Muyiddinov ran over a border detachment of Uzbekistan and got a gunshot wound as a result, according to the press service.

More than 4 metric tons of meat products were found in the detained cars. The law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan prosecuted a criminal case on this fact.

SBPC NSS said that despite the agreements reached with the Kyrgyz side to ban stopping vehicles and citizens of Kyrgyzstan on a specified section of the road, the citizens of this country systematically violate the agreement for the purpose of smuggling of various inventory items.

This eventually leads to negative consequences and negative impact on the state of friendly relations between the border agencies of the parties.

"In connection with the facts, SBPC NSS once again calls on the Kyrgyz counterparts to comply with the agreements reached, to constantly hold awareness and prevention activities among residents of border areas to prevent violations of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border," said the statement.
