Uzbekistan and the United States will conduct a joint research on Central Asia.

The joint research project is envisaged by the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the Central Asia Program of International Relations Department of the George Washington University.

A document was signed on March 2 in the US by the institute's director Vladimir Norov and the head of the Central Asia Program Marlene Laruelle, Uzbek media outlets reported.

The Central Asia Program is engaged in the development of research activities on modern Central Asia, and aims to become a bridge between the expert and political communities, providing a platform for discussions that unites political, scientific, diplomatic and business circles of the US and Central Asia.
