Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region leads in cucumber export

The largest volume of cucumbers exported from Uzbekistan from January through April 2021 fell on the Tashkent region, amounting to 1,200 tons, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee, the Khorezm region exported 1,000 tons of cucumbers, the Surkhandarya region - 563 tons, the Andijan region - 320 tons, the Bukhara region - 210 tons, Tashkent city - 201 tons, Fergana region - 200 tons and Namangan region - 169 tons.

At the same time, the volume of cucumbers exported from the Samarkand region amounted to 89 tons, from the Jizzakh region - 76 tons, from the Syrdarya region - 41 tons, from the Navoi region - 37 tons, from the Karakalpakstan Republic - 25 tons and from Kashkadarya region - six tons.

Also, the State Statistics Committee noted that Khorezm exported cucumbers worth $2.2 million.

Earlier it was reported that Some 146,700 tons of Uzbek agricultural products worth $41.4 million with a share of 22.3 in total exports were shipped to Kazakhstan for 4M2021.

According to the committee, the second major consumer of agricultural products from Uzbekistan was Russia, which imported 58,800 tons of vegetables and fruits for $37 million with a specific weight of 19.9 percent in the nationwide export of fruits and vegetables.

It is followed by China, which during the reporting period imported 28,900 tons of Uzbek fruits and vegetables for $24.3 million with a specific weight of 13.1 percent.

The fourth place in the list of the largest importers of Uzbek agricultural products in 4M2021 was taken by Pakistan with 10,800 tons of fruits and vegetables worth $20 million.

According to the committee’s report, the volume of exports of fruit and vegetable products for 4M2021 amounted to 327,900 tons and, in value terms, it exceeded $186 million with the growth rate, compared to the same period in 2020, amounting to 0.5 percent.
