The total portfolio of bank loans in Uzbekistan as of October 1, 2021 amounted to 311.5 billion soums ($28.9 million), Trend reports referring to the Central Bank.
This indicator increased by 19.5 percent compared to the same period last year.
The total volume of loans amounted to 260.7 billion soums ($24.2 million) as of October 1, 2020.
The volume of non-performing loans (NPL) as of October 1, 2021 amounted to 18.1 billion soums ($1.6 million), which accounts for 5.8 percent of all loans. This figure increased by 11.2 billion soums ($1 million) in comparison to the same period last year.
The volume of NPL as of October 1, 2020 amounted to 6.8 billion soums ($635,500).
The Central Bank notes that the level of indebtedness of the population is relatively small compared to Western countries, but its growth is contrary to other economic indicators.
