BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Uzbekistan plans to organize copper industry cluster based on the creation of a multi-level value chain from raw materials to finished products, Trend reports via Uzbek media outlets.
For this purpose, a land plot of 160 hectares has been allocated in the Akhangaran district of the country’s Tashkent region.
Currently, 12 projects worth $168 million have been put together, which will create more than 4,500 new jobs.
Additional copper products worth $250 million will be sent for export. With the launch of projects, there will be capacities for processing more than 80,000 tons of copper.
