BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. Uzbekistan put into operation a new thermal power plant (TPP) in the Khavast district of the Syrdarya region, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
The Turkish Cengiz Enerji company participated in the construction of this thermal power plant. The capacity of the TPP is 220 MW. The plant can generate 1.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.
On November 20, 2022, the TPP began supplying energy to the power grid of Uzbekistan.
The Ministry of Energy notes that the high efficiency of the equipment saves 150 million cubic meters of natural gas.
