Uzbekistan increases pomegranate exports for 11M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 26. Uzbekistan has exported 18,100 tons of pomegranates worth $17.3 million from January through November 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this figure increased by 2,000 tons or 12.3 percent, compared to the same period last year.

During the relevant period, Uzbekistan sent the largest volume of pomegranates to Russia (9,900 tons), followed by Kazakhstan (4,600 tons), Tajikistan (1,800 tons), and Kyrgyzstan (1,300 tons).

The statistics note that 335,000 tons of Uzbek fruits and berries were exported from January through November 2022.

The main importers of fruits from Uzbekistan are Russia, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Türkiye, Belarus, Iran, and Azerbaijan.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover from January through November 2022 amounted to about $50 billion.
