Uzbekistan shares data on banana imports for 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 14. Uzbekistan has revealed the volume of bananas imported from January through December 2022, Trend reports via Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to the statistics, Uzbekistan imported 140,200 tons of bananas worth $63.4 million during the reporting period.

The volume of bananas imports increased by 51,000 tons or 57.2 percent compared to the last 12 months of 2021.

During this period, most of the bananas were imported from Ecuador in the amount of 138,900 tons, followed by Kazakhstan (426 tons), Turkmenistan (345 tons), Turkiye (197 tons), and other countries (299 tons).

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $50.08 billion. This figure increased by 18.6 percent or $7.8 billion, compared to the figure for 2021. During the reporting period, the largest foreign trade partner of Uzbekistan was Russia ($9.2 billion).
