BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 22. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan amounted to $59.5 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.

According to statistics, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan has decreased by more than 2.2 times, or $75.8 million, compared to the first two months in 2022 ($135.3 million).

Uzbekistan in the reporting period imported Turkmenistan goods and services worth $40.2 million, decreasing by 2.9 times, compared to the period in 2022 ($116.6 million).

At the same time, Uzbekistan’s exports to Turkmenistan increased by 3.2 percent and amounted to $19.3 million over $18.7 million from January through February 2022.

From January through February 2023, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan made up $926.3 million in 2022, which is an increase of 5 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($881.9 million).
