BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Türkiye amounted to $547.7 million from January through February 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
The committee says that trade turnover between countries increased by 5.7 percent or $29.6 million, compared to the same period in 2022 ($518.1 million).
Uzbekistan’s exports to Türkiye in the reporting period made up $222.7 million, decreasing by 6.3 percent, compared to the figure for the first two months in 2022 ($237.8 million).
Uzbekistan imported from Türkiye products and services worth $325 million. This figure has increased by 15.9 percent, compared to the same period in 2022 ($280.3 million).
During the reporting period, Türkiye imported from Uzbekistan some 2,000 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $2.6 million, textile products worth $72.3 million, etc.
From January through February 2023, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan amounted to $8.9 billion, increasing by 2 percent or $176.4 million, compared to the same period last year ($8.7 billion).
Meanwhile, in 2022, Türkiye's trade turnover with Uzbekistan reached $3.2 billion, which is a decrease of 5.4 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 ($3.4 billion).
