TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 20. Lukoil Uzbekistan Supply and Trading company has paid $103.1 million to Uzbekistan under the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

As data by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Economy and Finance shows, the money was converted into the national currency (1.21 trillion soums) and transferred to the state budget.

The PSA was signed between Uzbekistan’s Uzbekneftegaz and Lukoil for the Kandym-Khausak-Shady-Kungrad project for the development of natural gas fields in 2004 and was extended until 2046.

Uzbekistan’s other PSAs include the ones with Russian Gazprom for the Shakhpakhty field, signed in 2004 (extended to 2024), and Dzhel field development, signed in 2018 for 25 years.

Earlier this year, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy noted that the country constantly cooperates with Russian partners, including Gazprom, Lukoil and Tatneft, in the oil and gas sector. In particular, an agreement was with Gazprom Neft on the supply of 300,000 tons of oil to Uzbekistan in 2023.
