TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 19. Uzbekistan and China CAMC Engineering, a construction company offering engineering, procurement, and construction services, agreed to implement a roadmap to accelerate the implementation of joint projects, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Chairman of CAMC Engineering, Bo Wang.
During the meeting, the parties discussed practical aspects of expanding the portfolio of joint projects, including the construction of hydraulic structures in the regions of the country and modern infrastructure in the "New Tashkent", as well as the introduction of advanced agricultural technologies.
Earlier this year, CAMC Engineering expressed its readiness to invest $16 million in the development of Uzbekistan’s Kashkadarya region.
The parties signed an agreement for the construction of a cable car in Kitab worth $15 million through direct investments.
The prospect of creating the Kainar tourist-recreational zone in the Kitab district was also discussed. The project is to accommodate up to 200,000 foreign tourists annually. It is expected that the Chinese company will develop the project's master plan.
Overall, CAMC is a leading Chinese corporation providing engineering services and implementing major investment projects in the fields of industry and infrastructure. Currently, CAMC is involved in the construction of an Olympic campus in preparation for the Asian Youth Games in Uzbekistan in 2025.
