TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, October 31. Uzbekistan aims to support the energy transition of greenhouses from gas to coal by providing loans, Trend reports.
In order to stimulate the energy transition, 20 percent of the cost of purchasing a coal boiler for greenhouses will be covered by the state budget starting on November 1, 2023.
Moreover, commercial banks will provide loans to greenhouse farms for:
construction of coal storage facilities for a period of 3 years with a grace period of 1 year
working capital for the purchase of fuel for a period of 1 year with a grace period of 6 months
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan has adopted new guidelines for the supply of natural gas to greenhouses for the fall-winter season of 2023-2024.
One of the new requirements is that the supply of natural gas to greenhouses will be governed by specific requirements to ensure efficient and responsible usage. These requirements include the installation of automated natural gas monitoring and metering systems, which must be connected to the greenhouse's natural gas meters.
Additionally, data concerning natural gas consumption must be transmitted online, allowing for real-time monitoring and control of usage.
