TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 13. Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense has installed solar photovoltaic stations at its regional posts with a combined capacity exceeding 5,000 kW, from January through September of 2023, Trend reports.

As per the ministry, the initiative has already resulted in substantial energy savings, amounting to 806,000 kilowatts, translating to cost savings of 582 million soums ($47,474).

The regions benefitting from the solar stations include Surkhandarya, with a station of 300 kilowatts, resulting in a substantial saving of 550,000 kilowatts.

Moreover, a 300-kilowatt solar station has been set up in Jizzakh, while Samarkand has been granted a 70-kilowatt installation.

The ministry representatives state that the capacity is set to continue with plans to install power plants boasting a cumulative capacity exceeding 720 kilowatts by the year's end.
