TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 30. The average monthly nominal gross salary in Uzbekistan reached 4.5 million soums ($363) in 2023, Trend reports.

The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that this is 17.2 percent more year-on-year. The minimum wage was raised in April to 980,000 soums ($79) and in December to 1 million soums ($80).

In terms of wage growth rate, the Fergana region ranked first with 19.1 percent, while the absolute figure is noticeably lower than the average: 3.44 million soums ($277). Growth exceeded 18 percent in Khorezm (3.7 million soums, or $298) and Jizzakh regions (3.47 million soums, or $280).

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected Uzbekistan's nominal GDP to reach $99.6 billion in 2024.

Nevertheless, the projected figure still indicates a significant decrease from the May 2023 report figure of $103.5 billion.

Uzbekistan plans to bring GDP to $160 billion by 2030, and the volume of exports is planned to increase to $45 billion as opposed to $18.5 billion in 2022.
