TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 10. A total of 4,601 citizens of the European Union visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in January 2024, Trend reports.
The data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that most of these tourists are from Germany (652 people), Italy (597 people), the UK (523 people), Spain (455 people), and France (436 people).
Meanwhile, the data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency shows that a total of 520,169 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan in January 2024.
Funds have been provided to Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions in 28 countries to promote the country's tourism potential and increase visitor arrivals.
In addition, a total of 6.6 million foreigners visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in 2023.
The largest number of foreigners who visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes in 2023 were citizens of Tajikistan (2.1 million), Kyrgyzstan (1.7 million), Kazakhstan (1.3 million), Russia (714,300), and Türkiye (106,500).
