TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 1. Uzbekistan raised the price of car registration by 68 times since April 1, Trend reports.
This is reflected in the decree of Uzbekistan's Minister of Internal Affairs Pulat Bobojonov, which approves an increase in the rates of payments for registration and re-registration of motor vehicles and their trailers (semi-trailers).
The payment rate for registration and re-registration of electric cars, motorized vehicles and trailers increased to 510,000 soums ($40), for other vehicles - to 2.3 million soums ($182).
Earlier it was possible to register or re-register any car and trailer for 34,000 soums ($2).
Meanwhile, Uzbekistan increased production of passenger cars by more than 2.04 times from January through February 2024 year-on-year.
As per data of Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the volume of production reached 53,370 vehicles.
UzAuto Motors manufactured 16,067 Cobalt cars from January through February 2024 (growth rate increased 2.1 times year-on-year), 7,361 - Gentra (up 42.3 percent), 11,752 - Damas (up 24.5 percent), 6,541 - Tracker (up 6.0 times) and 5,357 - Onix (up 47.8 percent).
