TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, June 4. The number of installed ATMs and info kiosks in Uzbekistan totaled 27,119 from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
The data from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan shows that this figure shows a 66.5 percent increase year-on-year (16,281 ATMs and info kiosks in January–April 2023).
Uzbekistan’s Xalq Bank has the largest number of ATMs and infokiosks (3,162). Aqrobank follows with 2,154 installed ATMs and infokiosks during this period.
At the same time, Uzbekistan‘s payment organizations installed 11,345 ATMs and information kiosks in the country.
Uzbekistan’s Saderatbank had the smallest number of ATMs and infokiosks (2) installed in the country during this period.
Meanwhile, the number of installed ATMs and info kiosks in Uzbekistan reached 26,986 as of April 2024. This figure has increased by 30.8 percent compared to the same period last year (20,617 ATMs and info kiosks as of April 2023).
Uzbekistan is actively promoting contactless payment systems by popularizing NFC technology in sales and service points throughout the country and by taking measures to provide QR codes in accordance with the requirements of trade and service points throughout the country.
