Two german journalists, Marcus Hellwig and Jens Koch, have been released from prison in Iran, Fars news agency reported on Saturday.
They have been held since October 10 for interviewing the son and lawyer of Sakineh Ashtiani, woman sentenced to death by stoning for adultery and murdery.
They were freed after a court commuted their jail terms to 500,000-dollar fines for each.
After being realesed the journalists headed to Tehran.
At the same day, German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle paid a visit to Iran.
The visit aims at development of bilateral relations between Berlin and Tehran and discussing regional and international issues.
