Iran, India to construct new petrochemical complex

Iran is negotiating with India to construct a new Urea complex while the Islamic republic has various negotiations with South East Asian countries to join construction of petrochemical units in Iran, Pananews reported quoting production manager of National Petrochemical Company Ali Mohammad Bossaghzadeh as saying.

"Iran started negotiations with these countries to join the construction of petrochemical units in Iran and import their needed products instead," he said.

He noted India requires Urea and by investing in petrochemical projects in Iran the country can export Urea to India.

Iran is currently negotiates with Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand and India to join and invest in construction of petrochemical projects.

The country had so far negotiated with Oman, Indonesia and Venezuelan companies to implement joint petrochemical projects in Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ).
