Since its new year began on March 20, Iran has exported $166 million in non-petroleum goods from its Khuzestan Province customs stations to Iraq.

That's a nine per cent drop in value over the same time last year, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.

Construction materials, cement, cars, wood, foodstuffs, dairy products, fresh fish, household goods and bottled water made up the majority of goods Iran exported to Iraq in the first three months of this year.

Exports are transported on local boats across Iran and Iraq's sea border in Khoramshahr.
