Iran has increased production of iron concentrate during the first five months of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021) by 4 percent, compared to same time last Iranian year (started March 20,2020), the economic and investment manager at Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) Amir Sabbagh told Trend.
Sabbagh indicated that the iron concentrate producers that increased the production volume included Jalal Abad iron ore company, Goharzamin Company, Sanabaad Industry and Mine Company, Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Sangan Company, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, Iran Central Iron Ore Company, Saba Nour Steel Company.
Statistics show that from March 21 to August 22 about 21.195 million tons of iron concentrate was produced that was 20.373 million tons in same time last year.
The produced iron concentrate from July 23 to August 22 was around 4.157 million tons that had a 4-percent decline compared to same time last year (4.328 million tons). The production of iron concentrate from June 22 to July 23 was 3.449 million tons, which is a 19-percent decline, compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the production of iron ore pellets in the first five months of the current Iranian year was 19.466 million tons. The products were manufactured by Khuzestan Steel Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company, Middle East Mines & Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Khorasan Steel Company, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company, Iran Central Iron Ore Company, Gol-Gohar Iron and Steel Development Company, Sangan Company and Sanabaad Company.
The production of pellets increased by 3 percent during the first five months of the current year but production in June 22 to July 23 had a 6-percent decline, compared to same time last year.
Sponge iron production in first five months was 12.150 million tons that had 4 percent decline compared to the same time last year.
The production of sponge iron from July 23 to August 22 was 1.750 million tons (24-percent decline compared to the previous year).
