BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Trade turnover between Iran and the United Arab Emirates is expected to increase to $30 billion next year (from March 21, 2025 through March 20, 2026), Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, trade turnover between Iran and the UAE totaled $27 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024). The UAE is Iran's second-largest trading partner after China.
Bazrpash added that 22 cooperation documents have been prepared between Iran and the UAE. These documents include tourism, trade facilitation, the role of the two countries in the North-South international corridor, increasing port activities between the two countries, and increasing the number of flights between the two countries.
To note, according to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, the country's trade turnover (imports and exports) last year amounted to more than $153 billion. Compared to the previous year, the trade turnover increased by 2.6 percent.
