Iranian Irankhodro scales back car production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The production of passenger cars by Iranian automaker Irankhodro decreased by 19 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) compared to the same month last year, Trend reports.

During the first month, the production of passenger cars at Irankhodro automobile manufacturing company amounted to 23,315 units. In the same month last year, the company's passenger car production amounted to 28,779 units.

Meanwhile, the company produced 10,805 units of Peugeot passenger cars in the first month. In the same month last year, the production of this type of passenger car totaled 17,980 units.

The company produced 3,237 units of Soren, 1,788 units of Dena, 960 units of Runna, and 2,376 units of Tara in the mentioned month.

In the first month, the company produced 6 Haima and 4,143 other passenger cars.

To note, during the 1st month of the current Iranian year, three main Iranian automobile manufacturing companies (Irankhodro, Saipa, and Parshodro) produced 45,916 passenger cars. This is 21.4 percent less than the same month of last year. The 3 companies produced 58,466 units of passenger cars in the same month of last year.
