Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan takes nosedive

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan declined by 29 percent in value and 0.2 percent in weight in the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) compared to the same month last year (from March 21, through April 20, 2023), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan amounted to 23,200 tons worth $16.3 million during the first month.

The statistics indicate that Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan during the same month last year amounted to 23,000 tons worth $23 million.

Furthermore, the information notes that mainly petrochemical products, steel products, agricultural and food products, cotton, silk fabrics, and various equipment were exchanged with Tajikistan during the mentioned month.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that Iran's non-oil trade turnover with Tajikistan amounted to 354,000 tons worth about $339 million in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024). Compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023, through March 20, 2023), Iran's trade turnover with Tajikistan increased by 35.5 percent in value and 35.3 percent in weight.

To note, Iran's non-oil trade turnover amounted to $5.91 billion for the first month. The trade turnover decreased by 12 percent compared to the same month last year.
