Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 21
By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Flights between
Iran and Austria will be doubled.
Austrian Ambassador to Tehran Friedrich Stift said currently six flights per week are carried out between Iran and Austria, which will be increased to two flights per day soon, IRIB reported Oct. 21.
The two governments and private sectors should pave the way for boosting cooperation, he added.
A large Austrian trade delegation will travel to Iran in the next three weeks, he said.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Iran's Industry, Mining, and Trade Ministry will travel to Vienna to discuss ways for cooperation in energy, water and environment, tourism, and infrastructure projects, he noted.
Iran's minister of economic affairs and finance Ali Tayebnia said in September that Tehran and Vienna are planning to triple the volume of their bilateral trade in the near future.
"At present, the volume of trade between Iran and Austria stands at $300 million and the two sides decided during this meeting to increase the figure to $ 1 billion," Tayebnia added.
