Iran’s iron ore granule output falls by 19%

Iran’s major state-run iron ore producing companies have produced about 4.5 million tons of iron ore granule during the first nine months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Dec. 21, 2016).

The figure indicates a 19-percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, IRNA news agency reported Jan. 16.

Sangan ranked first among the companies producing 1.516 tons of iron ore granule, followed by Markazi with 1.277 million tons of production.

Chadormalou(195,725 tons), Jalalabad(634,514 tons) and Mishdavan(390,159 tons) were other leading iron ore granule producers in the country.

The Iranian major state-run companies also produced over 459,579 tons of iron ore granule in ninth Iranian calendar month (Nov. 21-Dec. 21, 2016).

Iran’s iron ore reserve stands at 5.1 billion tons, of which 2.8 billion tons are proven.
