By Khalid Kazimov – Trend:

An Iranian deputy oil minister says that the country has resumed swapping Turkmen gas following President Hassan Rouhani’s recent visit to the Central Asian country.

Amir Hossein Zamaninia, Iran's deputy oil minister for international affairs, has said that the two countries have resumed swapping gas since March 28, IRIB news agency reported.

He added that the issue of swapping gas between the two countries was halted in January due to “the poor quality of Turkmen gas”.

President Hassan Rouhani on March 27 visited Turkmenistan where the sides inked 13 documents on cooperation.

According to Zamaninia, the sides are also studying a proposal on developing three hydrocarbon fields in the Caspian Sea.
