Iran is seeking to establish joint industrial towns at Iran-Iraq borders to transit its exported goods through Iraq to other countries and import required goods through Iraq territory, Head of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce said:

"One of the most important requirements for communicating with foreign markets, especially Iraq, is having sufficient information and expertise," Seyed Hamid Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

“Unfortunately, full information from Iraq is not available in commercial areas,” he added.

Stressing the importance of having the right information to conduct a win-win trade, he noted that trade with Iraq requires a great deal of pursuing and must be constantly monitored.

“The total capacities of the trade with Iraq have not been fully used by Iranian companies. There is less cooperation by Iranian service or knowledge-based companies, and most of our relations are dedicated to products,” said Hosseini.

“This year, our competitors are trying to remove Iran from this market and gain the first position in exporting to Iraq by establishing commercial offices,” he added.

"The Iranian products such as dairy products and automobiles have great share in the Iraqi market. There are 25 groups of goods defined by the customs, and Iraq is one of the few countries which accepted all 25 groups of commodities,” he said.
