TEHRAN, Iran, Sept.29
Trend:
Iran's Judiciary granted permission for customs clearance of imported European trucks by October 22, said Deputy in Iran Road Maintenance & Transportation Organization Faramarz Maddah, Trend reports citing ISNA.
The proclamation released by the Judiciary has set a three-week deadline for importers to pay customs fee and discharge the imported trucks.
A total of 3,600 imported trucks are being stored at nine customs depots in Iran, as cargo owners and importers have delayed paying the customs fees.
Auto imports have been barred in Iran since June 2018. However, imported cars which were in the middle of getting customs clearance prior to the ban have been stuck in the warehouses of customs department, or other state agencies.
