Azerbaijan makes new efforts to develop relations between eastern provinces of Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4. Relations between East Azerbaijan Province, located in the northwest of Iran, and Azerbaijan are developing within the framework of economic activities and investments, Governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati said during the meeting with Azerbaijani Consul General in Tabriz Aliyannaghi Huseynov, Trend reports.

According to Rahmati, East Azerbaijan Province attaches great importance to economic ties with neighboring countries. There are no obstacles in the development of relations with Azerbaijan and any cooperation can be realized.

Rahmati added that the development of economic relations between Iran and Azerbaijan by utilizing the capabilities of the private sector is beneficial for both countries.

Rahmati emphasized that the construction and completion of the Aghband-Julfa highway will play an important role in the development of relations between the two countries.

Azerbaijan's Consul General in Tabriz Aliyannaghi Huseynov also stated that trade-economic, scientific, and tourism relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are developing.

The Consul General wished the governor of East Azerbaijan success in his work.

Meanwhile, Malek Rahmati has been appointed the new governor of Iran's East Azerbaijan Province.
