Iran announces readiness to cooperate with foreign automakers

TEHRAN, Iran, Apr. 28

Trend:

The Secretary of the Parts Industry Association of Iran said there is 100 percent readiness for any cooperation with world-class automakers.

Referring to the return of foreign automakers to the Iranian market in case of a possible lifting of sanctions, Arash Mohebbinejad said that Part Manufacturers, over the past few years, despite the sanctions, showed high readiness to meet the needs of the country's automobile industry, Trend reports citing IRNA.

“This association is 100 percent ready to cooperate with foreigners in order to develop the country's automotive industry,” he said.

Regarding the mutual car manufacturing contract with China, he says that there is no information about the provisions of this contract, but there is full readiness for cooperation with other countries and foreign automakers and parts manufacturers.

“Currently, the country's automotive policy document is being reviewed by the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO),” he announced.

He mentioned the lack of liquidity and the orderly pricing policy as the two main problems of the car part manufacturing industry. “If the problem of the orderly pricing is solved, the lack of liquidity will also be solved.”

He went on to say that the mandatory and orderly pricing in recent years has led to a decline in the quality of cars and their parts.
