Iran’s medical tourism income hits $350K

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran's income from medical tourism is about $350,000 annually.

Gholamhossein Shafei, the chairman of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines, said the government should pay more attention to the medical tourism, Iran's ISNA news agency reported on October 12.

Medical tourism or health tourism is the travel of people to another country for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment in that country.

Medical tourism revenues in the world amounted to $100 billion in 2012, he added.
