Georgia, Tbilisi, Sept. 7 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

There will be the most transparent and free elections in Georgia's history since independence, monitored by an unprecedented number of observers, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.

"I am confident that the people of Georgia will make the choice serving continuation of the Euro-Atlantic integration, the strengthening of our freedom, will not allow foreign interference in the internal affairs of Georgia," the head of state said.

Saakashvili said that no external force can make the Georgian people "turn off the chosen path of Euro-Atlantic integration, which is a condition to its security."

"We will not be back in the days of rampant crime, corruption and the daily abuse of people," the president said.

He said the country will continue to go along the way of freedom to more affluent, successful Georgia, where each family will feel good and no one will be able to bring corruption and crime back.
