Georgia, Tbilisi, 31 January / Тrend corr. N. Kirtskhalia / The Trustee Council of the Georgian Public Television will be approved by the end of February, the Georgian Parliament's Speaker Nino Burjanadze said at the non-scheduled parliamentary session.

Burjanadze asked the opposition to approve of the staff of the Trustee Council as soon as possible. "That is also the political will of the majority," she said.

Burjanadze made it clear that on 18 January, when she was the acting President, she decreed to announce a 30-day competition for membership in the Public Television's Trustee Council. It will be followed by other procedures to last 1.5 month. "As the country hosts an unordinary situation, the period will be shortened and the decision will be made by the end of February," she said.

According to Burjanadze, the consultations on other demands put forward by the opposition will begin on 1 February. A preliminary decision on the demands reflected in the Unified Opposition's memorandum has been made, and now only the details will be discussed. "But the memorandum includes a range of issues negatively treated by the country's administration," she said.
