Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgian President Michael Saakashvili demanded the immediate release of Malkhaz Basilay, journalist of Mze TV company, detained by Abkhazians. "We have unchallengeable information that the journalists underwent torture in Sukhumi isolation," Georgian President stated in Batumi.
"I want to say to Sergei Bagapsh, the Abkhaz leader, in well understandable Georgian language, to release the journalist. Otherwise, I will order the Internal Ministry to start special operation to release the journalist Let, Bagapsh makes his decision," Saakashvili stated.
Basilay was detained from the Ingursk bridge by Abkhaz police, while trying to shoot the program about the elections of Russian Federation in Abkhazia.
